Hello, is it you we’re looking for?

Hello, is it you we’re looking for?

Fancy a change? Just starting out in the workplace? Or re-joining after a break? Why not consider a career here at Scott & Stapleton? We currently have 3 positions available at our super little company. They are as varied as the work itself and could appeal to pretty much anybody looking for employment.

We have had a couple of members of staff sadly leave us recently. One has moved on to pastures new, whilst the other is making the bold step to emigrate. Both have assured me they aren’t trying to escape my singing…

Firstly, we are looking for an experienced Sales Negotiator/Lister. Someone who can hit the ground running preferably, working closely with my colleague Chloe and myself. The successful candidate will have duties such as taking new properties on the market, carrying out viewings, and negotiating sales. The most important aspect for us when recruiting anyone is the ability to fit into our small team and identify with our ethics and vision at Scott & Stapleton. Maintaining a high level of service for our clients is our priority.

I class us as a boutique estate agency. We don’t focus on the volume of properties we sell, but rather the sales experience. Those who do choose to sell or buy through us know that they are going to get first-class service from beginning to end, without getting pushed around from pillar to post within a large sales team.

Next up is a Property Manager. Again, someone with a bit of experience would be preferred but is not essential. This role will be managing our extensive portfolio of rental properties. Office-based and full time preferably, this person will be responsible for dealing with Tenant’s maintenance issues. Liaising between them, tradespeople, and landlords, whilst also assisting our landlords in managing their investment properties. Keeping in close contact with all parties and building relationships with local contractors is essential. The new employee will work as part of our close-knit property management team with the brilliant Adele (don’t tell her I said that though…).

The next role is perhaps the most exciting – Lettings Administrator. It might not sound it initially, but for someone starting out it could be a great opportunity to build a career. Initially, duties will involve assisting the property management department but after some training (covered by Scott & Stapleton), other jobs will include carrying out property inspections of rental properties, completing inventories, and check out reports. This could be a full time or part-time role depending on the suitable candidates’ preference. The candidate will find their time split evenly between the office and being out on the road, looking at properties, and meeting Tenants. It’s perfect for someone who prefers to be out, chatting to our clients and is a brilliant chance for someone who wants to get to know the nuts and bolts of the industry before choosing what sort of role best suits them moving forward.

Why chose Scott & Stapleton? Well, I work here for a start but if that’s not enough then allow me to go on. We have been around now for well over 30 years so must be doing something right. We are a small team but together cover all aspects of the property industry. We do sales, rentals, property management, maintenance, holiday lets & block management. Anything to do with houses, bungalows, flats, and land – we have got it covered. The majority of us have been in the industry for many years, and you’d be benefiting from the teams’ wide skillset and experience. Nothing fazes us and a scenario rarely comes to light that at least one of us hasn’t dealt with previously. We think we’re a pretty fun team to work with too, there’s always a great atmosphere in the office (which is gorgeous, might I also add).

I know that I am biased, but it is a brilliant long-term career. There’s nothing better than matching someone with the property of their dreams. Or selling a property for a vendor or letting an investment for a landlord. Even dealing with and resolving issues for tenants and landlords is hugely satisfying. Don’t get me wrong it can be hard work but being a small independent office, we all bounce off each other and the rewards can be great – just like my singing.

If any of these roles are of interest to you feel free to drop me a line at rob@scottandstapleton.co.uk.
